The Ondo State Chapter of Nigerian Youth Congress(NYC) led by the Chairman, Comrade Adebayo Lawrence in continuation of their familiarisation visits, has took their courtesy visit to the office of Ondo State Secretary to the State Government(SSG), Princess Oladunni Catherine Odu in a bid to familiarize her with the the youth group and its activities.
The delegation of Ondo NYC met with the SSG earlier yesterday and had robust discussions around development of youths, as well as, fortifying the Nigerian Youth Congress to enhance viable representation for interests of the youths in the State.
While introducing the NYC, the State Chairman, Comrade Adebayo Lawrence highlighted the objectives of the group as a platform dedicated to be the voice of Nigerians Youths and enjoys the recognition of the Federal Government under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He also listed past activities of the NYC and sought the support of Princess Odu on some of the programs being proposed.
Earlier in his speech, Comrade Lawrence also lauded the SSG for being a character worthy of emulation among womenfolk as the first female to rise to the position of Secretary to the State Government in Ondo State and a force to reckon with in public affairs and politics beyond the State.Â
Comrade Lawrence noted that the tremendous contributions of Princess Oladunni to the Government of Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu cannot be overemphasized. He further disclosed plans to install the first female SSG as the Matron of Nigerian Youth Congress in Ondo State.
Reacting, Princess Oladunni Odu expressed her gratitude to the NYC Chairman and his executive team for paying her visit. She commended the efforts of the group for playing active role in ensuring that youths are well represented. Prince Oladunni however accepted the offer to be installed as the Matron of the group and pledged her supports to the progress of Nigerian Youth Congress.
