President-elect’, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, had a closed-door meeting with Aliyu Berata, one of the leading aspirants for the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the yet-to-be-inaugurated 10th National Assembly.
Betara is the House of Representatives member representing Biu/Bayo/Shani/Kwaya Kusar Federal Constituency in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria, which is the home state of Tinubu’s running mate, Kashim Shettima.
A video of Betara’s visit to the ‘President-elect’ at the Defence House in Abuja was released to journalists by the lawmaker’s media office on Wednesday.
From all indications, Tinubu held a meeting with Betara alongside some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Betara’s media office confirmed that Betara’s met with the ‘president-elect’ to seek his support and endorsement.
Tinubu returned back to Nigeria on Monday after spending weeks on a medical trip to Paris, France.

The ‘President-elect’ left for France shortly after the March 18 governorship and State Assembly elections.
On Wednesday, Tinubu met with some APC leaders and governors as well as members-elect of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The PUNCH reported that videos and photographs of visitors at the Defence House show Tinubu met with the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila; Chairman of the House Committee on Finance/Secretary of the disbanded APC Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke; and Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, Babajimi Benson.

He also reportedly met with members of the Senate including its President, Ahmad Lawan; Olamilekan Adeola (APC/Lagos), Tokunbo Abiru (APC/Lagos), Opeyemi Bamidele (APC/Ekiti), Barau Jibrin (APC/Kano); and former Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio (APC/Akwa Ibom).
