The Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter, His Youthfulness, Amb Ihunwo Chijioke has assured the Governor of Rivers, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, that Rivers State youths will support Sir Siminalayi Fubara the Governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State and other candidates of the party because the youths of Rivers State are pleased with them.

The youth leader of Rivers State gave the assurance during an event organised by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Rivers State chapter, at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Portharcourt on Thursday 16th March, 2023.
The Chairman said the entire youths of Rivers State are sincerely grateful to the Governor that for over seven years he has prudently managed the resources of Rivers State. His urban renewal programme, tackling insecurity and employment of youths in Rivers State.
These and many more, the Chairman said the youths have sent him to tell His Excellency that they will stand by him in this election and after the election. And are pleased with the candidature of Sir Sim Joseph Fubara and Prof. Ngozi Odu. And will support all candidates of the party to win election on Saturday.
“Your Excellency the entire youths of Rivers State are indeed grateful to you. Over seven and half years you have managed the resources of Rivers State. The urban renewal programme, the issue of insecurity, employment of youths in Rivers State, we say thank you and God bless you.
Your Excellency the youths have sent me to tell you, that they will stand by you during the election and after the election. And we are pleased with the candidature of Sir Sim Joseph Fubara and Ngozi Odu and we will support all PDP candidates to win election on Saturday.”
He called on the Governor that the ten thousand employment should be for the youths of Rivers State and not for politicians.
“Your Excellency the youths have asked me to tell you that the ten thousand employment you are doing is not for politicians but for the youths here. These are the youths that will protect the votes on Saturday therefore, the ten thousand employment should be given to them.”
He told His Excellency that Sir Sim Fubara is a youth and the youths will support him and in his inauguration there will be a tsunami.
“Your Excellency Sir Sim Fubara is a youth and youth will support him and in his inauguration there will be a tsunami”, he said.
In his remarks, Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike asserted that he has heard what the Chairman said, that he didn’t make a mistake, that he knows the right time to do the right thing for the youths and nobody can influence him to do otherwise. This is your time and you must have it.
“I have heard what the youth president said, I didn’t make a mistake, I know the right time to do something. Don’t bother about politicians, nobody can influence me to refuse to do what I’m suppose to do for you. Now that the ten thousand employment has come, I will hold the President responsible”.
The Governor urged youths who doesn’t have job to apply for the ten thousand civil service employment.Â
“I want to urge you all, who don’t have any job, to apply now and let the youth council prepare the list and send to us. I can assure you, this employment is for you. The youths of Rivers State, this is your time”.
He said Rivers State needs a Governor who is not ethnic bigot. And the State doesn’t need someone who is self centered. He said his administration has brought good governance in the State by doing projects in all the local government areas. And Sir Sim Fubara is the man that can consolidate and continue on those projects, he said.
