As Muslims all over the globe and in particular, Ondo State are observing fasting in the month of Ramadan, it is a time of reflection and prayer for our dear Nation and in particular Ondo State.
The month of Ramadan is the time for repentance and absolute trust in God, helping those who are facing challenges or in need. It is the time to come together for a common good of our nation and our State. It is the time to surmount the courage to be united as one indivisible nation by jettisoning ethnic bigotry, religion sentiment, tribalism, favourism and nepotism in a bid to overcome the huge challenges facing Ondo state in particular and Nigeria at large.
Our Muslim community plays a significant role in Ondo State’s rich and distinctive identity.Â
We encourage you to remain steadfast and committed to unity and progress of our dear State.Â
We are privileged to have in our society the benefit of multiple religions and different cultures which have weaved over several decades, in a rich tapestry of friendship and togetherness. I know that for all of these communities, and especially for Muslims during Ramadan, the security and economic crisis is at the forefront of our thoughts and prayers, with Ramadan reminding us all to remember, the daily struggles of the poorest and most vulnerable among us. As we make collective effort to bringing to an end these crises, let us hope that when the Ramadan fasting comes to an end, your prayer and sacrifice will impact the society.
As the fasting in the month of Ramadan clock Day 7, may the special prayers and the sacrifices of these holy days uplift you and add to the vitality of our community.
Finally, we will like to send all Muslim communities in Ondo state our very best wishes during this time of prayer and reflection.Â
Ramadan Kareem.
