The candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Morenike Atinuke Witherspoon (RENNYKAY) has been endorsed by the Uso Monarch and chieftaincy council ahead of Saturday’s House of Assembly Election. This declaration was announced at the courtesy visit to the palace of the Oloba of Uso, Oba Oyinbade Ademola by Hon. Atinuke Witherspoon and the RENNYKAY Campaign Council.
In the opening remark, the DG, RENNYKAY Campaign Council and former Council Chairman, Hon. Chief Adebayo Oke Benjamin appreciated the king and his chiefs for the warm reception. He went further to thank the king and his subjects for voting massively for candidates of the APC in the last Presidential/NASS elections which he described as first of its kinds in the electioneering history of Uso.
The Oloba of Uso, Oba Oyinbade Ademola in his addressing welcome Hon. RENNYKAY and her entourage. He described Hon. RENNYKAY as a woman worthy of the people’s votes. He went on to alert Hon. Witherspoon of the need for proper consideration of Uso indigenes in state appointments. The king emphasised that Hon. RENNYKAY will be the first Woman in the Ondo Parliament and as such, his blessings and supports are upon her.
Speaking on behalf of the Chiefs was the Akede Oba. He assured Hon. Witherspoon of unalloyed supports of the people of Uso. Again, he stressed the demands of the people. He stated that gratuity and pension of some pensioners who worked with TESCOM in Uso are yet to be paid since 2011 till date.
A staunch supporter of the APC in Uso, Comrade Adebisi assured massive participation and votes for Hon. RENNYKAY in Uso. He however appeal for infrastructural development within the town and should not relent in assisting the suburbs.
In her responses, Hon. Morenike Atinuke Witherspoon (RENNYKAY) appreciated her host for the ovation and endorsement. She also appreciated them for voting massively for APC candidatesin the last Presidential/NASS elections. She assured the chiefs that all pending gratuities shall be paid in no distance time. Hon. RENNYKAY reiterated her eagerness to fulfill all promises made at the various camps and communities especially communities that lack portable drinking water.
She thereby solicited for their votes and supports on Saturday, stating that the time has come to balance gender representation in the state Parliament.
With this endorsement, it is evident that Hon. Morenike Atinuke Witherspoon (RENNYKAY) is more than fit to represent the good people of Owo Constituency 2 at the State House of Assembly. Her sagacity and competence are speaking volumes each passing day as we draw near to the Saturday State House of Assembly Election.
