NPFL Updates in-house analyst Mr Bertrand, has cried over the form of Super Eagles duo, Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu at Southampton.
Onuachu secured a dying minute move to the EPL side from KRC Genk in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, with fans hoping he would help steer them off the relegation waters.
However, Onuachu unlike him has been firing blank since his arrival, sparking reactions from fans that he may not be the Messiah they needed for the relegation miracle. On Sunday against Manchester United at the Old Trafford, Onuachu was handed a Cameo with less than 6 minutes from time.
Aribo on the other hand has been relegated to the reserve team of the club, mostly used for cup matches, a condition which Mr Bertrand said is worrisome.
“It’s worrisome, Aribo and Onuachu, few of our finest in the National Team are gradually losing relevance in a club like Southampton,” he said Sunday evening.
“Onuachu I can understand maybe new to football in the UK, but Aribo’s case is what I don understand. He has played in the UK before. What’s really going on?”he quizzed.
“Should they continue in this direction, I’m afraid they will both lose their place in the national team squad. It gives me nightmare that we have a game against Guinea-Bissau and our beats are not at their best,” he cried.
