Expresses Readiness to Support Talented Footballers to National and International Soccer Market
As part his agenda to revive sports and sporting activities at the grassroots and develop new talents, the Osun Central Senatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, has donated some footballs to selected local football team within Osogbo and Olorunda local governments.
Speaking while making presentation of the equipment, the football enthusiast Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi who was represented by a member of the Ajagunla Interest Group Committee, Ambassador Adekunle Adebayo Adeife and Hon. (Mrs) Dolapo Oyaniyi, expressed optimism that the gesture would encourage sports and sporting activities at the grassroots.
While reiterating commitment to developing sports, Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi said the time has come to take sports to its highest level as it is done in other parts of the world. The Harvard alumni added that the essence of the intervention is to promote grassroot sports development in the country, noting that more equipment would be donated in a not-so-distant future.
“Football competition is one of the ways we give back to the society and most especially the Nigerian youths. It is also a great avenue to harness youth talents in soccer. If elected Senator of Osun Central senatorial district, I will expose the talented ones to the national and international soccer market where they can find greener pasture and better their lives and by extension, contribute to the growth and development of the Nigerian economy”.
