Babatunde Afeez, Vice President(External) of the National Association of Nigeria Students, joined other Guests to celebrate with the beneficiaries of Dakiz Initiative Empowerment in Akure at Engineer Society Hall, Behind Chicken Republic, Opp. Ceci Supermarket, Akure over the weekend.
Hon. Dele Ologun ably represented by the Director Ministry of Youth & Sport, Mrs. Olukemi Okupe tasked Nigerian youths, particularly beneficiaries of the empowerment to see skill acquisitions as a tool to bridle unemployment in Nigeria.
He further stressed that the Ondo State Government under the leadership of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has been up and doing through ONDEA to empower youths in the state, and further commend Dakiz Initiative on the role of ensuring the reduction in youth unemployment.
Hon. Dayo Awude ably represented by Hon. Akinola Ismail on his part during the panel session pointed to the role of youth in striving the process of any society and commend Dakiz Initiative for the concept to get Nigeria youth self-productive.
Babatunde Afeez, also known as Babtee, tVice President (External) NANS, in his speech encouraged the beneficiaries who are mostly undergraduates to see skill acquisitions as a
key factor to be productive after school, even for those that travel abroad, skill acquisitions is the key to survive in the foreign land. He further commended Dakiz Initiative on the task to empower Nigerian student during the heat of ASUU strike.
Hon. Borokini commended Dakiz Initiative empowerment in Akure. He said he is sure that the effort of the NGO alongside with his effort as Member Representing Akure Constituency 1 at the State assembly will go a long way to curb social vices in Akure South Local Government and provide self-sufficient skills for the beneficiaries.
The Iralepo & Paramount ruler of Isinkan kingdom, Oba Olugbemiga Ojo, in his speech showered prayers on the beneficiaries and entire Dakiz Initiative team that brought the program to Akure.
Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi appreciated the beneficiaries for being a good ambassador of the foundation. He further stressed that the empowerment program will be open for Akure inhabitants again by March 2023 as against normal Two years of the NGO, and this is due to the level of seriousness of Akure beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries and their guarantors at different speech could not withhold their happiness, and appreciated Dakiz Initiative for the opportunity to learn the skills of their choice for free.
A total of 37 beneficiaries are learning Fashion Design, Photography, Frame Making, Cake Making, Graphic Design, Snacks Making, Barbing and Hairdressing with 24 Physically Present.
