The North West Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders have pledged to work for the electoral victory of its presidential candidate and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 election.This unalloyed support and commitment to work for the success of Atiku Abubakar was the highpoint of the consultative stakeholders’ engagement of the presidential candidate with the party faithful in Kano on Tuesday.
At the consultative meeting were Arch. Namadi Sambo, a former Vice President, the governor of Delta State and Atiku running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the chairman of the BOT, Alhaji Walid Jibrin, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s National Chairman, the former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, Sen. Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, the party’s Vice Chairman Northwest the zonal woman leader, Hajia Zainab Audu Bako and the National Youth Leader, Prince Mohammed Kadade Suleiman.
Others in attendance at the consultative meeting included the states chairmen of the zone, the party’s gubernatorial candidates in the forthcoming election, National Assembly members and candidates, the state assembly members, zonal leaders of the party, the state working committees and other party chieftains.
The Katsina State PDP Chairman Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri who spoke on behalf of the other states chairmen of the zone acknowledged the attributes of the Wazirin Adamawa as an achiever and called on him to deploy his wealth of experience to help bring solutions to the myriad of problems plaguing the nation. He pledged the loyalty and the support of the zone to the candidacy of the party’s flag bearer.
Speaking at the occasion, the former Kano State governor, Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau who just returned to the PDP described the party’s standard bearer as an experienced leader who knows the problems and the solutions to the problems confronting the nation.
In his response, the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar expressed happiness at the warm reception he received in the Northwest zone saying that it portends signs of victory. He charged the people to remain committed and vigilant to ensure that the envisaged victory is a reality. He assured that a PDP victory in the 2023 election will pave the way for peace and unity of the nation
In another development, the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar also on Tuesday had fruitful consultations with the members of the business community in Kano.
Speaking through the former Governor of Sokoto State Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, Senator Abdul Ningi, Arch. Ibrahim Dan Yaro and Dr. Yusuf Pantiya, the business community decried the poor state of the country’s economy even as they expressed their confidence in the person of Atiku Abubakar as an accomplished business icon to rebuild the battered economy.
