Popular Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold recently responded to a troll who insulted him in hopes of receiving N1 million, following a similar incident involving singer Chike. The situation began when Chike made headlines for gifting N1 million to a troll who had criticized him online. The troll had accused Chike of gaining fame solely because of his collaboration with the late singer Mohbad on the hit track “Egwu,” which garnered over 49 million views on YouTube. In response, Chike called the troll “hungry” and surprisingly sent him N1 million.
Inspired by this act, another user on X, @gunzify0, attempted to replicate the tactic by insulting Adekunle Gold, hoping for a similar reward. The user tweeted, “@adekunleGOLD you dey craze,” attempting to provoke the singer.
However, Adekunle Gold, aware of the troll’s intentions, responded calmly with a simple reply: “You’re right.”
The incident highlights the growing trend of trolls seeking financial rewards from celebrities by posting provocative comments, with Adekunle Gold handling the situation with composure and wit.
