An unconfirmed report indicates that Nigerian troops successfully killed several bandits who had blocked the Sheme road in Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina State. The clash reportedly resulted from an intense gunfight between the military and the armed bandits. This information was shared by Bakatsine, a security expert and Conflict Journalist in the Northwest region.
Bakatsine further noted that aside from neutralizing the bandits, the troops managed to arrest several others and recovered four motorcycles used by the criminals. He described the military’s actions as a decisive blow to the bandits terrorizing the area.
In his post, Bakatsine wrote:Ā
“GOOD NEWS: Moment ago, Nigerian troops engaged in an intense gunfight with bandits who had blocked the Sheme road in Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina State. The troops successfully killed several bandits, arrested others, and recovered four motorcycles from the bandits.”*
As of now, the Nigerian military has not issued an official statement regarding this operation.
