Awka, Anambra State — Nigerian billionaire businessman and tech entrepreneur, B-Lord, has taken a bold step toward revolutionizing transportation in Awka with the introduction of his electric taxi service. While test-running the new vehicle, he drastically reduced transport fares, charging just ₦300 for a trip from Ebenebe to Awka—significantly lower than the ₦1,000 typically charged by tricycle (keke) operators.
B-Lord revealed that he plans to deploy more of these electric taxis across the city, aiming to cut transportation costs by as much as more than 600%. He assured that his business model is highly profitable, as the electric cars do not require petrol, engine oil, or regular servicing—only periodic charging.
To ensure sustainable operations, B-Lord is reportedly setting up solar-powered charging stations at strategic locations across Awka. He also hinted at plans to expand the initiative to other cities in Anambra State, reinforcing his commitment to providing affordable and eco-friendly transportation solutions.
His initiative is expected to disrupt the transport sector, offering commuters a cost-effective alternative while promoting clean energy adoption in Nigeria.
