In a display of overwhelming support and solidarity, the women of Osun State turned out in their thousands for the One Million Women March for Imole. Organized by the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Social Affairs under the able leadership of Hon. Ayobola Fadeyi Awolowo, the march was a key highlight of activities marking the 2nd-year anniversary of the people’s governor, Senator (Dr.) Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as the executive governor of the State.
The event was more than a celebration; it was a demonstration of the governor’s impactful and people-centered leadership. Over the past two years, his administration has rolled out transformational projects that will leave an indelible mark on Osun State and its people. From the construction of roads, hospitals and bridges to flyovers and other critical infrastructure, Gov Ademola Adeleke has indeed walked the talk which earns him accolades far and wide.
Osun Women alongside other stakeholders, hit the streets of Osogbo, the state capital, chanting praises of the governor. Slogans like “Imole De,” “Adeleke 4+4,” “Adeleke Beyond 2026” etc filled the air, painting a picture of unity and staunch support. The colourful procession of singing and dancing participants was a clear indication that Imole shines brighter than ever, with the people firmly rooting for Adeleke’s reelection beyond 2026.
Notably, the march drew participation from a broad spectrum of society such market women, business owners, students, youth organizations, artisans, civil servants and representatives of various religious and social groups. Their collective voices echoed a shared belief that Osun is on the path of progress under Governor Adeleke’s watch.
As the anniversary celebrations continue, this march serves of the people’s appreciation for a leader who prioritised their well-being. With many exciting activities lined up to mark this milestone of Governor Adeleke’s midterm, Osun State stands tall and will continue to bask in the glow of achievements that have redefined governance and inspired hope for a more brighter future for the State of the Living Spring.
