The Executive Governor Imo State Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has tasked Corps Members to be patriotic, resilient and hard working for a better and more positive Nigeria.
Gov. Uzodimma made the call at the 2024 Batch C Stream l Official Swearing – In Ceremony of Corps Members deployed to the State. He said that the Youths had a role to play in the transformation of the Nation and Imo State in particular.
Addressing, the Corps Members at Eziama Obaire Camp, the Governor represented by the Honourable Commissioner Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Hon. Dr. Mandela Ukaegbu, encouraged them to uphold the sterling qualities of Patriotism, Integrity, Efficiency, Commitment and Teamwork through their Service Year.
He noted that having been sworn on Oath before the Chief Judge, they were obliged to observe the rules of the Course, participate actively in all Camp activities, thus garnering leadership experiences and problem-solving qualities that will help to achieve the adequate development of the State.
Furthermore, he assured the Youths of their security and the friendly disposition of the good people of Imo State.
Earlier in her introductory address, the NYSC Imo State Coordinator, Mrs Rachel Idaewor , felicitated with the Corps Members on their new Feat. She informed them that adequate arrangements had been made to ensure their participation in all scheduled activities and skill empowerment under the SAED Programme.
The Corps Members were advised to interact among themselves to promote National Unity and Integration.
The Coordinator expressed her appreciation to the State Government for its unwavering support to the Scheme in the State.
The Oath of Allegiance was administered by the Hon. Justice TN. Nzeukwu and the sample signing of the Oath carried by the Corps representatives.
Highlights of the event, include the display of Man O’ War’, Marshal Arts and “Thug of War’ .
