Hon. Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe (FCSSM), the Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Osun State, has made an urgent appeal to His Excellency Sen. (Dr) Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, to provide immediate assistance to the people of Ere Ijesha following the collapse of a critical bridge in the area.
The bridge, which connects Ere Ijesha in Oriade Local Government to Ilahun Ijesha in Obokun Local Government, has recently collapsed, causing significant disruption to local communities and economic activities.
Commissioner Ogungbangbe personally visited the scene to assess the extent of the damage. The collapse has severely impacted the movement of goods and people between the two local government areas, effectively isolating the communities and hampering economic activities.
Following his inspection, the Commissioner paid a visit to the monarch of Ere Ijesha, HRH. Oba Augustine Adenipekun Alowolodu, to express his condolences and solidarity with the affected community. During this visit, Prince Ogungbangbe assured the monarch of the government’s commitment to swift action in rebuilding the collapsed bridge.
The bridge’s collapse has had a profound effect in the area as agricultural activities have been severely disrupted, transportation of food produce from farms to markets has become challenging and the overall economic value of the community has been negatively impacted
The Commissioner reiterates his commitment to working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a speedy resolution to this pressing issue.
