The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of the newly promoted Assistant Inspector-Generals of Police (AIGs) to various zones and police formations across the country. This follows the recent promotion of eight senior officers by the Police Service Commission (PSC) on August 30.
Among the promoted officers is Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, who, along with Mohammed Ali, Julius Okoro, and Benneth Igweh, has been assigned to Zones 1, 2, 4, and 7, respectively. Notably, Igweh was previously the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) before his elevation.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the postings in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja. The statement also provided details of additional postings for key police personnel, including:
– AIG Sulaiman Mohammed**: Posted as AIG in charge of Police Accounts and Budget.
– CP Ibrahim Balarabe: Assigned to the Western Port Authority Police (PAP).
– CP Olabode Adeleye: Appointed as CP Intelligence, FID Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– CP Felix Oben: Posted to Anti-Fraud at the FCID Annex, Enugu State.
These new appointments are part of efforts to strengthen the police force and ensure effective leadership across various departments and zones.
