President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new Permanent Secretaries for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA). This move comes following the earlier appointment of 10 pioneer Permanent Secretaries to oversee various Secretariats within the FCTA.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by Anthony Ogunleye, Director of Press at the Office of the FCT Minister. The President also approved the formalization of the position of the Solicitor-General of the FCT Administration, elevating it to Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary for the Legal Services Secretariat.
The need for additional Permanent Secretaries arose due to the retirement of two existing Permanent Secretaries and the establishment of the Youth Development Secretariat. The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Okeke Chinwe for the South East, Ajayi Babatunde for the Southwest, and Nathan Sabatin for the Northeast.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new Permanent Secretaries and the Mandate Secretary for the Youth Development Secretariat is scheduled for Thursday, August 15, 2024.
