REQUIREMENTS
You need the following
>Lidded plastic bucket
>Porous sack / pillow case
>surgical tapes
>Mushroom grain spawn
>Straw
PREPARATION
Drill holes (a finger size hole)on the side of your bucket
At the bottom drill very small holes so that water can pass out.
Fill the straws in your pillow case , deep it in a boiling water (60°-70° C)for 30 to 60 minutes
After that remove your pillow case and drain the water
The next step is to get your Lidded plastic bucket (5lt bucket is oky)
Start removing your straw from pillow case/ Porous sack and start filling in the bucket.
Put first layer of straws then sprinkle some grain spawn on top
Use the ratio of 5 – 10% of spawns to 80 – 90% of straw
On top of you spawns lay another straws and then sprinkle some more spawns.
You can have 3 layers or 4 layers depending on the size of your bucket.
At the top of your last layer sprinkle some more spawns and then cover the bucket with lid.
MUCHROOM GROWING STAGES
Now cover the side holes with surgical tapes (am using surgical tapes since they’re breathable hence they won’t hinder air circulation process)
Put your bucket at a room temperature for 16 days
At this stage remove the tapes in all holes . If you open the lid to see inside you will see the white stuff on top. That is MUCHROOM forming.
And put back the lid on your bucket and place it a well humidy area where some ligt come be seen eg at the window side.
Spray the holes with water 2 or 3 times per day.
On day 21 your MUCHROOM will start shooting out from the holes and day 29 you can harvest your MUCHROOM.
Continue spraying the holes with water for a week and you will see some more muchrom shooting out.
