Isn’t this so shameful to see how we’ve been reduced and ridiculed as the citizens of the State? We’ve become a laughingstock in the face of millions of Nigerians. We’re now trending all over the news with the shenanigans being outplayed by the State government rather than being in the picture of Infrastructural developments, Job creation, Empowerment, Foreign investment, Education, and the rest. Ebo “Rituals” is now the other of the day.
Isn’t this funny and astonishing that after several days of being out of the Office on the grounds of medical leave, after a series of prayers for the well-being of our Mr. Governor from his Deputy Mr. “Unlucky” Lucky Aiyedatiwa, political associates, government appointees, kingsmen, friends, and families, and all the good people of Ondo State, that our Governor only returned to the country to use his two face sword and a sledgehammer to strike and witch hunt his Deputy?
Furthermore, before his resumption from his medical leave, the State had been on autopilot and redundant. Nothing is working, and even the ones we witnessed were below standard. Everywhere is untidy and looks unkempt. I was hoping to see things move forward for good upon his resumption only to be disappointed once again by the activities of the Ondo State House of Assembly and to realize that Governor Akeredolu is administering the affairs of the State from another State. Chai!
The most embarrassing thing is the Leadership of the State House of Assembly acting like a benchwarmer and rubber stamp legislators. They remain confused, unbothered, and toothless in discharging their duties accordingly. They appeared as if they didn’t know the right thing to do but it’s so unfortunate that they know but only targeting the “Muller” that will go into their pockets since they’ve been pocketed already. Though, kudos to some of them who still have a conscience and posterity to guide.
However, the Speaker of the House of Assembly should put the same energy, force, and pressure in the impeachment process of the Deputy Governor to ask Mr. Governor to return to Ondo State and administer the affairs of the State rather than sacking and signing papers from Ibadan according to reports. The Speaker of the House and its members should represent their constituencies accordingly and stop shaming their constituents. They must ask questions as regards the “Familitocracy” system of government we’re witnessing in our dear State.
Finally, the good people of Ondo State, we shouldn’t remain silent in the face of this shenanigans. We need to speak up. We’re lagging in all areas. We mustn’t allow the Ondo 2024 games which are being outplayed by some Cabals to take us back from where we’re supposed to be or deprive us of the benefits we need to enjoy as Ondo Citizens.
I’m not saying that Deputy Governor “Unlucky” Aiyedatiwa should not be probed if found guilty of the “watery” charges leveled against him by the house but we can’t remain silent while the duly elected executive Governor of the State operates from his country home in Ibadan while abandoning his duty and the people of Ondo State.
And if I may ask, if Aiyedatiwa is impeached today, who will take up the affairs of the State since the Governor is not in the State? Meanwhile, it’ll be on the record that a particular Governor used Three different Deputies serially during his regime in Ondo State.
E GET WHY!
