Senator Representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Accounts/ Water Resources, Senator Barrister Onyekachi Peter Nwebonyi has Join the good people of IZZI NNODO EKUMENYI to celebrates the 2023 OJIJI new yam festival.
In a statement signed and sent to Peoplesmind by his media aide, Mr Romanus Uzor Ozioko reads;
My cherished brothers and sisters of Izzi Nnodo Ekumenyi extraction, it’s my singular honour and unquantifiable privilege to congratulate you on this year’s momentous occasion of the Ojiji Izzi (New Yam Festival) on 9th of August, 2023.
I have never been more proud of being an Izzi son than now. We have demonstrated uncommon industry, resilience, unrivaled commitment to common cause and enduring legacy of hospitality and forthrightness.
Through the exploits of our sons and daughters in all walks of human endeavours, we have once again demonstrated the undying spirit of the typical Abakaliki man globally acclaimed for hardwork, honesty, trustworthiness, perseverance and selflessness.
On the occasion of this year’s Ojiji Izzi cultural festival, I can only urge our people to deepen the love already planted amongst us and our brother clans, reinvigorate our penchant for common good and reinforce our commitment towards annihilating any form of kindred dichotomy and favouritism.
Indeed, God has blessed us in all fronts. He has given us a passionate leader, His Excellency, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who leads Ebonyi state with the fear of God. A dispassionate peep into other areas of human endeavours will reveal pleasant surprises of our people setting and breaking global records of excellence.
As your son representing you at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly, I promise to strengthen the bonds of unity among us and jettison all cosmetic boundaries that divide us and as well attract dividends of democracy to you all. We must unite with other clans across the Senatorial and geopolitical zones in the country in order to build a virile nation for posterity and the betterment of our offspring.
