The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has urged shop owners and traders who rented shops at the Ayegbaju International Market, Osogbo, the state capital to open their lock-up shops in order to improve business activities of the market and as well boost the economy of the State.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev Bunmi Jenyo made this known during a stakeholders meeting held at the premises of Ayegbaju International Market.Â
Rev Bunmi Jenyo expressed dissatisfaction at the refusal of traders who rented shops at the Ayegbaju market, to start trading in the market.
He added that, the market has an international standard with the structure put in place which include: lock-up shops, exclusive shops, administrative and maintenance offices, public toilets, health centre, cafeteria, police post among others.
The Commissioner also lauded the idea of the ongoing construction of a massive Shopping Mall and Hotel Venture in the market, saying it will boost the economic value and customers patronage in the market.Â
Rev Jenyo stated that, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration will not go back on his development agenda to transform commercial activities of the State.
The Commissioner who enjoined the traders to wake up to their responsibilities, so that the purpose for the establishment of the market will not be jeopardized, also reassured them of government’s support at all times, to put a smile on their faces.
