Ijare community Indigines protest against Head of Kingsmakers (Sapetu) action in refusing to comply with the kingship process.
The Obaship tussle in Ijare community in Ondo state has led to Protest break out in Ijare community, in Ondo State during the weekend.
The protest which involves women and Men of the community chanting “Give us our king” is what we are crying for😭, nothing more. We therefore appeal to our kingmakers headed by High Chief Sapetu to give us our king out of the four 4 candidates represented to them by the Royal family as soon as possible.
It was gathered that Princes who are refer to Omowa’s in accordance with the Ijare tradition who were in race for Obaship stool were in total of 13, in which oracle consultation revealed the acceptable 7 out of the 13.
Source reveal that a candidate out of the 7 the oracle selected died in the course the process, reducing it to a total number of 6.
Following the tradition and custom of the Ijare land, the Omowas proceeded with screening exercises which eventually reduce its number to Four 4.
Source further alleged the Kingsmakers of trying to sabotage the efforts being put in place by OMOWA’S and community expectations.
Sapetu ( head of the kingmaker) is trying to force kola Oyewole on the communities, which has been rejected by the oracle and the communities at large , in which some of the kingmaker are witnesses to the rejection of kola Oyewole by the oracle.
In a video clip sent to Peoplesmind, the regent of Ijare community appeal to the Kingsmakers to act like a leader and fasten the process of selection process by not further siting on the list.
In these video clip the regent further said, if the Kingsmakers had really loved the Ijare community they should not be partisan and act fast in these final selection stage and to further avoid letting Obaship tussle disturb to peace of the community.
