The recent 19-second video of Ondo state governor Aketi, with the majority leader of the state’s assembly, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi, popularly called West, during Arakunrin’s 67th birthday, has vindicated Sahara reporters, Mr. Allen Showere Esq, Bar. Tolu Babaleye (Apoti Ibo), my humble self, SDP, PDP, and other presumed political enemies of Aketi (quoting the political jobbers).
Despite knowing his frayed state, the popular Owo-cabal never wanted him to hand over power to his deputy in acting capacity. They are indeed the enemies of the state and Aketi. Also, if the condition of the governor is this bad, how come his wife was planning Owanbe for her 70th birthday? If the people of the sunshine state hadn’t cried out, do you mean Ondo state’s first lady would have saturated the atmosphere with pomp and pageantry while her husband is this critically ill? May God have mercy on Aketi.*
Is it not this same Hon Ogunmolasuyi that was aspiring to be the Speaker of the 10th Assembly a couple of weeks ago? Automatically wishing Aketi not come back,or he wants to tell us the Governor and the Speaker can come from Owo at same time?
The health status of Aketi has been characterized by a lot of dramas from his supporters and those of us who belong to the opposition camp within his party. The current media war in the state is self-inflicted by the governor due to his lacklustre style of governance. It’s no longer news that Aketi was smuggled out of the state to an unknown destination for medical treatment, presumed to be a hospital in Germany. It’s a shame that many Nigerians are brainless and unreasonable; otherwise, this country wouldn’t be like this. The pandemic sycophancy that has devilled our land will need divine intervention to be eradicated.
I must use this medium to appreciate God for sparing Aketi’s life to witness his recent birthday. To live or die belongs to Almighty God. As I have said, times without number, it’s satanic, evil, and inhuman to wish your fellow human being dead because of power that is ephemeral. There was a time when late Chief Adebayo Adefarati was in charge of the state; the reality of life removed him. Likewise, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, but his reign could only last for six years before the forceful change of baton through the judiciary. The era of the almighty Iroko, i.e., Dr. Olusegun Mimiko later came to an end after an unprecedented eight-year rule. Today, the same Gbasibe crooner is struggling politically, just to say a little about the vanity of power.
In the same vein, the political relevance of Aketi will go, whether his supporters want it or not; that is the fact about life. Some years back, I found myself in Ifaki Ekiti, the hometown of Eng. Segun Oni; I saw a Prado jeep going without escorts or convoy. Someone sitting with me said, ‘That is Eng. Oni.’ I was so surprised to see him with just a driver and police orderly; in less than two years out of power, then what happened to all the paraphernalia of office when he was the governor of Ekiti state? They had gone to Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who was his successor. Positions and power belong to God, and He gives them to anyone He likes. In a nutshell, I stand with Chief Olusola Oke’s statement; it’s evil, satanic, and inhuman to wish your fellow human being dead because of transient power.
I want to wish our governor in Ondo state a happy birthday, praying for the fulfilment of God’s plans for his life. However, if a second opportunity was given to Aketi, I’m very sure he would do things differently. I remember that our governor once said the doctors who weren’t paid regularly didn’t have two heads in the state. When Arakunrin had issues with them regarding their wages, Aketi was busy constructing a new governor’s house he never enjoyed with the state’s resources then. Most of the doctors left the only teaching hospital in the sunshine state for greener pastures. If the German government had treated their doctors and health workers like Aketi did in Ondo state, there wouldn’t have been medical personnel to be used by God for his life, and he would have died like other indigent citizens from his state by now. Then what happens to other sick people of the sunshine state in Aketi’s shoes who don’t have money to access health care in a foreign land and are not privileged like the governor for state’s sponsorship of their health bills? Do the fake supporters of Aketi ever reason like this, or are they destined to perish while only Arakunrin must live?
There is no doubt that Aketi doesn’t belong to the class of good leaders which the people have been yearning for, but I see him as one of the bosses that Nigerians had been having in leadership positions of this country. A good leader will ensure his subjects have access to the same privileges enjoy by the rich and people in power. Lest I forget, there was a time in Nigeria that Saudi Arabian King and Princes were using the University College Teaching Hospital, Ibadan, for their medical care. Likewise, when the first son of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Olusegun Awolowo, a young and brilliant lawyer, was involved in a ghastly motor accident that later claimed his life, he was also treated at UCH, Ibadan.
The same health sector has been destroyed by our past and present leaders but run overseas for better health care while the stupid citizens are busy holding prayer vigils for them because their lives are superior to the poor indigenes, slave master’s mentality. Before I bore you with a lengthy article, as usual, which many people complain about, let’s get to the meat of the issue.
The recent 19-second video of the governor of Ondo state, Aketi, with the majority leader of the state’s assembly, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi, popularly called West, during Arakunrin’s 67th birthday, has vindicated Sahara reporters, Mr. Allen Showere Esq, Bar. Tolu Babaleye (Apoti Ibo), my humble self, SDP, PDP, and other presumed political enemies of Aketi (quoting the political jobbers). The holy Bible is right that the enemies of a man are his household members. If the condition of the governor is this bad, how come his wife was planning Owanbe for her 70th birthday? If the people of the state hadn’t cried out, do you mean Ondo state’s first lady would have saturated the atmosphere with pomp and pageantry while her husband is this critically ill? May God have mercy on Aketi.
Also, those who claimed to be Aketi’s friends have done much evil to him for exposing the man in his current state because of desperation to retain power at all costs. Though it has generated an issue between Hon. Ogunmolasuyi and Dr. Kayode Ajulo, let me leave the duo to settle their score. The same man called Hon. Ogunmolasuyi was aspiring to be the speaker at the inauguration of this 10th assembly while Aketi was on sick bed, despite they are from the same community. is it possible for the governor and the speaker to come from the same town? God should continue to expose Arakunrin’s enemies. It’s obviously that our governor needs rest and prayers; if Aketi can’t continue, it’s not bad for him to resign and face his health; after all, he will still be a lone ranger when the chips are down, that is the law of nature.
