Residents of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA yesterday day trooped out in their large numbers to purchase rams at subsidized rate at the council’s premises.
The council had announced the annual subsidized rams sales for the Muslims in the LCDA yesterday to ease the burden the astronomical cost of the commodity on the people.
While expressing his gratitude to the council’s Boss Mr Sokunbi Lawal of 27 Alhaji Ota Street said he saw the advert on social media and decided to give it a trial.
“I saw the advert on social media yesterday and decided to give it a trial and I am lucky to be among the beneficiaries,” he said.
He thanked Hon. Ajala for the program and prayed to God to continue to elevate and protect him.
Oluwaranti Adepoju, a resident of Ilupeju said she was happy to be one of the beneficiaries of the subsidized ram.
” I want to thank Hon. Rasaq Ajala for this program, if not for this, I am not sure I will be able to buy the exorbitant amount they are selling in the market,” she remarked.
Mallam Abdulrofeeu Aderoju Abdulazeez, the Chairman working committee for the Chief Imams, Imams and Alfas in Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA said he was happy to benefit from the program.
“I am very happy to be among the beneficiaries and I specifically want to thank Hon. Ajala for supporting the Muslims and Christians in the LCDA
“He has been subsidizing rams for the Muslims in the LCDA during Ileya festival since his assumption of office and does same for the Christians with subsidized Turkeys and Chickens during the Christmas season,” he said.
He prayed to God to continue to bless him and his team.Â
The subsidized ram sales has been the tradition program of Hon. Ajala’s administration to ease the problem the people go through Eid-l-Kabir (Ileya) festivals due to the high cost of the commodity.Â
He balances this by extending same opportunity to the Christian Community during Christmas where they enjoy subsidized Turkeys and Chickens sales.
