We have read with bemusement the drug propelled, anger laced with angst and hatred driven publication of 9th June, 2023 by one on line blogger who has been identified a Nwigwe John on “easterntruth.com”.
Quite frankly, we may not have bothered about the inanities of the author nor struggled to respond to the subjective, jaundiced, unwarranted and unnecessary attack on the person and office of the strong and amiable Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, a fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers.
However, in order not to give credence to the venom and acidic lies spewed by the author and save the undiscerning public from being fed with the poisonous publication as truth, we have to, in order to strengthen the facts and records of the matter under discourse.
According to the scripture, which Nwigwe John made reference to in his write-up (as if he believes in it):
“These six things doth the Lord hate: Yea Seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue and hand that sheds innocent blood; An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief; a false witness that speaketh lies and he that soweth discord among brethren” Prov. 6:16-19.
The faceless author as it were, should apologize to the Deputy Governor for the unfair comments against him in his futile attempt to plant a seed of discord between him and his Principal, including the tortuous but fruitless journey to bring him into public opprobrium, thereby lowering his estimation and stature in the eyes of the gullible persons. The choice is his.
For clarity purposes we want to state as follows:
That a person with enough courage of convictions, daring rage to succeed, innovatively and supremely intelligent with a strong emotional balance like the Deputy Governor cannot be uncharitably described as educated illiterate, not in deeds or words.
As a graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri with a secondary education background from Government Secondary School, Ketu, Lagos State, he could not have been one.. In his career trajectory, where he has shown unequalled excellence, he happened to be the only well Engineer in the employment of the Nigerian Westminster Dredging and Marine Ltd, Delta State, until his selection as the Deputy Governor by the winning Labour Party.
As a product of humble parentage, he does not possess nor is gifted with a proud heart and therefore, cannot aim at outshining his boss whose undisputed confidence he enjoys due to his display of undiluted loyalty and commitment to duty.
Again, Nwigwe John’s show of shame and display of wicked imagination against the Deputy Governor will obviously attract God’s wrath. This is because the scripture is replete with God’s anger against dissidents, disobedient and stubborn people like Lucifer, Haman, Nebuchadnezzar, Pharaoh, among others which he and his co-travellers belong.
While we continue to educate the author on the scripture, it is important for him to know that no one questions the words of a king.
“Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him what doest thou?” Ecclesiastes 8:4.
His Excellency, Dr, Alex Otti OFR, the Executive Governor with a view to lifting the burdens and breaking the yoke off the shoulders and neck of the traders in the state, had ordered immediate stoppage of all forms of levies in the markets.
Sadly, the real Herod of the state in the person of Chief Chijioke Nwaku defied the Governor’s directives and continued uninterruptedly to dehumanize and traumatize the Ariara market traders with the imposition and collection of outrageous levies, including seizure of more than 5000 permanent voters’ cards which were recovered from him. Should this criminal act go unpunished? The answer of course is capital NO..
Chijioke Nwaku as the actual Herod of the state has an undeterred and persistent spirit to kill the new stars shinning in Abia through the emergence of Dr Alex Chioma Otti and his Deputy, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, which the people are still savouring.
Against the tide of the old order where no government directive was ever enforced, which the likes of Chijioke Nwaku enjoyed with fanfare, the Deputy Governor at the behest of his boss visited Ariara and Ekeoha markets, among others, to enforce and ensure strict compliance to the Governor’s directives to make life more meaningful to the people. What is his offence? To sit idly- bye and watch Abians suffer under the draconian rules of Chief Nwaku while he and his cohorts celebrate to the banks? Tufiakwa!. Not under the watch of the present administration.
The non-existent issue of Abacha and ‘Ishi-gate’ is infantile and only existed in the wicked mind and imagination of the author.
For the avoidance of doubt,, the Deputy Governor could not have ran counter to the laws he is enforcing when there is a ban on collection of levies. No Abacha was commissioned anywhere to collect any levy. In fact for who? The security agencies should look out for the Abacha and arrest him if he had name dropped the Deputy Governor’s name.
Since the Deputy Governor’s actions usually have the blessings of his boss as he complements his efforts in enforcing government’s policies, to that extent, has may have had the Governor’s authority to enforce the handing over by the ASETA Provost. Of course any Head of Government agency defying the Governor’s directive on handing over to the most senior, including ASETA is exhibiting an audacious affront against the government and no serious one absorbs such.
The choice of Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu as the current Deputy Governor is as a result of the inherent sterling and salutary qualities he possesses which include character of honesty, hard work, commitment to duty and result oriented virtue.
No need to say that he always adds value where ever he is.
Therefore, the futile attempt of Nwigwe John and his sponsors to tarnish the hard earned reputation and unblemished image of the Deputy Governor and plant seeds of discord between him and his boss which is as difficult as separating Siemens twins can only be embarked upon by a drug peddler and arm runner which the author has been unveiled to be engaged in. The security agencies should do the needful.
Finally, Nwigwe John and his likes should always remember what Ecclesiastes 10:8 says:
“He that diggest a pit shall fall into it; and who so breaketh an hedge, a serpent will bite him”.
A word is enough for the wise.
