With the Ramadan winding down and preparations for the Eid-al-fitr celebrations in top gear. The Boon Akinsade Foundation decided to keep smiles on the faces of thirty Muslim faithfuls in Ondo Kingdom by supporting them with food items and cash gifts.
The event was held on Wednesday 19th April, 2023 at Tewogboye Street, Newtown. The event also served as an avenue for Islamic teachings.
Alfa Abdulrazak Olokuta of Orimolade Mosque, in a brief sermon dwelled on the importance of giving. The Islamic scholar praised the founder for the timely intervention and his commitment to a better society. He prayed for Allah’s strength to ensure expansion and sustainability of the Foundation.
The Founder in a short speech, through his mother Mrs. Adenike Akinsade, who represented the Foundation at the occasion, noted that “we deem it fit to cushion the effects of the rising cost of food items and also make the celebration memorable for our brothers and sisters in Islam”. She further added that the Foundation will keep rolling out projects which will be of interest to the people of Ondo Kingdom irrespective of religious affiliations.
Some of the dignitaries present at the occasion are Mr Abdulrahman Olumide, Alhaji Basiru Oyewole (Bantolee), Bakare Rafiu, Ademola Akinsola and Folusola Olaniyan.
It is also imperative to note that the Foundation has offered scholarships to youths in Ondo Kingdom for a 6 months IT training in UI/UX Design and Website Development.
