Eid-al-fitr is a special religious celebration to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan which is a period of fasting, prayer and reflection.
In the last 30 days, you have all fasted, prayed and moved closer to God in thoughts and deeds. You have obeyed Allah by depriving yourselves of worldly pleasures. One of the benefits of obedience is that it gives unimaginable happiness. It is my prayer that Allah will accept your sacrifices, your prayers and bless you and your households with great joy and happiness.
I equally wish to admonish us to continue to live in the fear of Allah just like we have done in the last 30 days. We demonstrated great love by sharing the little we had with our neighbours joyfully. It is important that we sustain this great virtue so that our society can be better.
By this time next year, we shall have a better celebration because Allah would have increased us on every side.
