It is a great time in our history, a time to look back and appreciate God for the peaceful coexistence among the rank and file of Akure sons, daughters and non indigenes before, during and after election process.
We appreciate everybody that made this victory possible, from our party (PDP) leaders that gave us the platform to fly our aspiration across all wards , NLC, Trade unions, FIBAN, Students and Marketers.
I also appreciate the paramount ruler of Akure Kingdom, the Deji and chiefs in the Kingdom for ensuring a serene atmosphere that allowed for the conduct of fair electoral contest.
In fairness, there was a contest but there were no vanquished for we are all partners in progress as far as our dear constituency is concerned.
I am certain that I had no opponents but co-travellers in progress and we must work together to make our Constituency the envy of others.
My profound appreciation also goes to the vibrant population that came out to give me their massive votes, and to those who didn’t vote for me, I say thank you. I have heard your voice and I’m determined to convince you with our service to the motherland.
My vote of appreciation will be incomplete if I fail to recognize the contributions of my loyal supporters. The ones who bought into our action plan long before it became a popular mantra, and journeyed with us when all hope seem dashed.
I salute your courage, tenacity and competence. Together, we shall improve the fortunes of our beloved Constituency.
I made a vow long before now, which I renewed on election day, and I promise never to go back on the pledge I made to the good people of Akure. I will protect the mandate you all gave to me.
Thank you Akure for giving me the opportunity to serve.
Amadla awhetu: nothing shall discourage us ✊
