The lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency and the member-elect, Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe has received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
Adelegbe who will be returning to the green chamber, the second time, was among the 360 members-elect of the House of Reps., for the 10th national assembly today got his certificate by the INEC National Commissioner at the federal capital territory, Abuja.
While recieving the certificate, the Vice Chairman, House Committee On Foreign Affairs, expressed appreciations to the Governor of the state, who is also a member of his constituency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, all relevant political stakeholders, leaders and members of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, and the people of Owo/Ose as a whole for keeping faith in him and confidence reposed in him to run the good race for the second time.
Hon. Adelegbe reassured his constituents of more welfare packages that will surpass his first term in office.
“I want to express my joy and appreciations to the good people of my federal constituency, Owo/Ose, particularly my Oga, the Governor, Aketi, who is also a member of my constituency.
“I also thank all relevant political stakeholders, our party leaders, members and all supporters for counting on me and for giving me the mandate to represent our people again at the House of Reps.
“Let me state here emphatically that, all that I have done in my first tenure are just tips of an iceberg.
“There will be more welfare programmes and more developmental projects that will better the lots of our people, Adelegbe added.
It would be recalled that the lawmaker contested the February 25th National Assembly election and won with a wide margin to emerge winner of that election.
Hon. Adelegbe who polled 34,550 votes defeated his political rival Hon. Ayo Arowele of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that scored 20,865 votes.
