Many members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) and Zenith Labour Party, (ZLP) defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday in Irele and Ese-Odo local government areas of Ondo state. The defectors led by Owuokutu Tobi and Omosule Shedrack (Chief Jawo) formally joined the PDP at Ode – Ajagba in an elaborate party campaign rally attended by the party’s officials and candidates. Irele local government chairman of the party, Chief Ajigbore Oyenusi ( Agbagbamujre) while speaking expressed satisfaction on the progress and the latest development in the party.He urged the people to vote for the candidates of the party at all levels.Also, addressing the crowd, the former Deputy Governor of Ondo state and PDP candidate for Ondo South Senatorial District, His Excellency Chief Alfred Agboola Ajayi asked the people to vote for PDP to rescue and redeem the Nigeria. He argued that the level of economic hardship in the country has become unbearable hence, Nigerians could no longer endure the continuation of the APC’s bad governance. The Member of House of Representatives, representing Okitipupa/ Irele Federal Constituency, Honourable Ikengboju Gboluga thanked the people for their unalloyed supports and cooperations, promising to do more if reelected.The situation was not different at Igbotu in Ese-Odo LG where many former members of other political parties joined the PDP.The former Local Government Chairman, Honourable Ojo Omolewa who organized the meeting where the former Deputy Governor received and welcome the new members, revealed that there were more people willing to join the party.Â
